For the rubber-proofing of fabrics, all common types of fibres, such as cotton, viscose staple fibre, polyamide, polyester, polyacrylic fibre, polypropylene, aramide and glass are applied. These fibres are purchased from selected weaving mills and suppliers as fully woven cloth, hosiery or cord fabric.
The textile substrates are coated by the PolymerTechnik Ortrand GmbH by means of impregnating coating or coating procedures with solutions of lower or medium to higher viscosity. The solutions required for this purpose are produced by our company from green rubber and solvents.
Another procedure is applied for coating articles of higher thickness, whereby green rubber foil is applied onto the substrate material by means of a four-roll calendar.
Unvulcanized Fabrics
The PolymerTechnik Ortrand GmbH supplies unvulcanized proofed fabric to customers manufacturing
from this material.
Vulcanized Fabrics
Applying the same procedures as described for unvulcanized fabrics, the rubber-proofed fabrics are vulcanized after coating in the heating ducts, the autoclave or on a rotation vulcanization plant (AUMA).
The customers of PolymerTechnik Ortrand process these fabrics to make, for example:
